This is a LGBT+ friendly zine, so language and content considered offensive to the LGBT community will not be tolerated in your submissions Submissions can of course include other characters to help expand your art, or create a better story, but the focus should not be on relationships While I’m sure we would love to see Vanitas in a happy and stable relationship, we’d like to keep this zine focused on Vanitas himself, rather than romantic/platonic relationships. This zine will be Safe For Work content only, and feature NO sexually explicit content (Try to keep the F-bombs to 1-2 if they need to be there, same goes for other cuss words!) Your submissions may contain some physical/magical violence, minimal blood, moments of peril, and/or infrequent use of strong language. This zine will have a T rating, and will have content suitable for ages 13 and older. A preorder period will span over the course of about a month, and after that the zine will be unavailable. This is a volunteer charity production, so proceeds from the zine sales after sellers fees, production costs and shipping will be donated to the Trevor Project. The average price point of Are You Afraid of the Dark: Curse of the Shadows is 12.76.

This zine will be released in pdf format as well as a printed book and possibly include a charm or enamel pin once we track down some more information on production of said merchandise. We’ll likely be selecting around 15-20 artists and 5-10 writers depending on the amount of submissions we get Rejection letters will be sent to those who don’t make the cut While we will be accepting artists and writers of various skill levels, this will be a quality over quantity zine, so not everyone will get in. So write out those free forms, sonnets, whatever you’d like! Poetry submissions can be just about any format besides epics. Writing submissions can be canon compliant, or AU!

Art submissions should be fully rendered, shaded, with a background and foreground (Scenery is not required, but needs to be more than just character art on a plain background) We will be welcoming fanartists, and fanfiction/poetry writers to participate in the zine. There is no set theme for this zine other than to appreciate the character as a whole The purpose of this zine is of course to celebrate everyone’s favorite empty creature from Ventus riven, Vanitas!
